Description M.Sc. and Ph.D Sociology of Rural Development, Wageningen Agricultural University. Rural Development Sociologist with a theoretical interest in the field of rural development (migration, small-scale enterprises, agricultural knowledge) and the use and management of natural resources. Field research has concentrated on Latin America (Mexico, Costa Rica) and, at present, Africa (Burkina Faso) and Mexico. Current research interests focus on community-based conservation (Burkina Faso) and the emergence of social movements challenging genetically engineered corn (Mexico), both from an actor-network perspective. | ||
