The Case of Ghana</dc:title><dc:identifier>http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.worlddev.2006.11.007</dc:identifier><dc:date>2007</dc:date><dc:creator>Asiedu, K.F.</dc:creator><dc:creator>Folmer, H.</dc:creator><dc:description>This paper analyzes the impacts of privatization in Ghana on the basis of a survey of 300 workers in privatized and state-owned enterprises. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between privatization and job satisfaction. Whereas monthly wage is an important determinant of job satisfaction in state-owned enterprises, education and the availability of training opportunities are strong determinants in privatized enterprises. The study also shows that there exists a variety of instruments to implement a privatization program smoothly.</dc:description><dc:subject>Leerstoelgroep Economie van consumenten en huishoudens</dc:subject><dc:type>Article/Letter to editor</dc:type><dc:format>unknown/unknown</dc:format><dc:source>World Development 35 (2007) 10</dc:source><dc:source>ISSN: 0305-750X</dc:source><dc:rights>Wageningen UR</dc:rights></oai_dc:dc></metadata><about><provenance><originDescription harvestDate="2009-09-22T00:00:00Z"><baseURL>http://library.wur.nl/oai</baseURL><identifier>oai:library.wur.nl:wurpubs/358273</identifier><datestamp>2009-09-22T00:00:00Z</datestamp><metadataNamespace>http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/oai_dc/</metadataNamespace></originDescription></provenance></about></record>
