Abstract De bestaande Keniaanse richtlijnen voor de behandeling van longontsteking op de kinderleeftijd voldoen, maar de implementatie ervan kan beter. Philip Ayieko testte een nieuwe interventie, bedoeld om die implementatie te verbeteren en daarmee ook de zorg voor ernstig zieke kinderen die in het ziekenhuis worden opgenomen. Dit leidde inderdaad tot significante verbeteringen. Vaccinatie tegen longontsteking van kinderen geboren in Kenia in 2010 bleek bovendien zeer kosteneffectief. | ||
