Abstract
This study investigates the Egyptian military's prominence in politics in the period 1952-2011. This will be done by examining the political culture in Egypt, i.e. the procedures for the transfer of power; public attachment to civil institutions; and whether the public is well-mobilized into private associations. Furthermore, this study will also examine informal institutions and the rentier nature of the Egyptian government. This will be done through a process tracing of political and economic events in the 1952-2011 timeframe. |
