Abstract
The island of Jerba (also Djerba) off the southeast coast of Tunisia is historically and culturally distinct from much of the rest of the country. The language accent, traditional clothing style, and architecture are distinct. It is a place of marked religious difference from the rest of Muslim Tunisia, and has been a long-established center of Judaism. |
