Abstract
Delivering drinking water to rural areas is one of the missions of the Directorate-General for Water in Benin. The goal is that everyone should have guaranteed access to drinking water. This is something that can only be achieved by pooling local knowledge, technical and hydrological expertise and establishing appropriate and effective systems and procedures, which means that government structures need to have the capacity to adapt to a constantly changing context and the ability to learn in order to improve their performance. This publication documents some of the efforts to improve local services and accelerate the pace of operations, in the hope that it may serve as an example for other structures facing the same type of challenges. |
