Abstract
This project investigates the relation between corruption and economic growth in Angola. To investigate this subject, we have set up three transmissions channels, through which growth is affected, according to theory. Our project is based on the view, that corruption has a negative impact on growth. This theory is tested on our case Angola. Therefore, we analyze the effect of corruption on the transmission channels; investment, political instability and human capital, and the transmission channels effect on growth in Angola. Furthermore, we use the large, Angolan oil reserves as an alternative explanation, to the great amount of both corruption and growth in Angola. We reach the conclusion that there are signs of correlation between the level of corruption and the transmissions channels, yet there is no proof of Angolan growth being influenced by corruption through these transmissions channels. |
