Abstract Propõe-se neste trabalho reler São Tomé e Príncipe a partir da poética de Conceição Lima, que projeta a Terra sonhada como se, no corpo da linguagem, buscasse reencontrar a sua própria casa, ou conciliar-se com a sua identidade. Para buscar marcas identitárias e de reconstrução da terra natal ou retorno ao lugar originário que Lima percorre, é preciso observar a poética d'O útero da casa. Essa é a primeira reunião de poesias; uma espécie de relato íntimo do parto da nação e das pessoas que pairam sobre as suas referências. A poética de Lima, ao rememorar o passado, relê a casa física, e a transforma numa paisagem metafísica, num movimento entre escrever o passado e reconhecer-se no presente. - On the basis of a reading of Conceição Lima's poetry, I try to understand the factors that led the poet to "rewrite" the speeches of Sao Tome and Principe. Going beyond a literary interpretation of poetics, I look into the reasons why she figured out her "dreaming land" by using the poetic language, and try to look into her own birth-house, physical, sometimes, but also metaphoric. Lima's rewrote the concept of nationness through some specifics temporal and thematics framing. It was observed in Lima to raise the question that led to the need to look into not just to literature, but an entire culture long marked by colonialism and, finally, to view literature as an instrument for the attainment of freedom of expression.
