Abstract
This thesis has looked into the conflict that arose after President Nkurunziza of Burundi decided to run for a third term. It has asked whether the ethnic power sharing model of 2002 has shifted the conflicts in Burundi from playing along ethnic lines to political alliance. It has found that at the time of writing the consociational model seems to have done that. |
