Abstract In this song the performers are welcoming the visitors to the home. Irembo is a Runyankore word which means "compound of a home." It is a song used to accompany enjogyera dance among the Banyankore. This song is performed mainly at introduction and give away ceremonies to welcome the family of the groom to the bride's home.
