Abstract
The following is intended as a sort of set of guideline to researching and understanding politics in Northern Mali and the Sahara for those who have recently taken an interest therein, because they are involved in the many international efforts made towards restoring peace and stability in the country. It is written from the perspective of a historian with over twenty years of experience in following these politics, both in the field and from a distance, but from an entirely academic, hence totally policy unrelated, perspective. |
