Abstract
From the beginning of the sixties, Pasolini starts to regularly travel to the East and to Africa. In opposition to the western part of the world, increasingly dominated by consumerism and uniformity, Africa and the East appear to the author as uncorrupted places through which it is still possible to represent an alternative reality. The essay analyzes some of the works that Pasolini wrote between 1961 and 1975, and that came out directly from the experience of his journeys beyond western boundaries, underlying how these texts have been generated by that condition of 'rooted out' felt by the author in front of the new society of neo-capitalism. |
