Abstract
This study is focusing on the transition to independence of Namibia and provides an analysis of the main factors that helped or inhibited socio-economic development during that period. After assessing the process of state-building in the course of the Namibian civil war, the research focuses on external non-state actors and the role they played in monitoring the first elections held by this newly independent state. In particular, the role of the UN and NGOs are at the center of the research. |
