Abstract My work can be read as a reengagement with colonial history that seeks to center Indigenous voices, particularly those from Zambia. My latest project focuses on a modest brick monument made to commemorate the Tenga Tenga, Africans drafted as porters during World War I. With this project I aim to remember the Tenga Tenga through performance art as a way to reinscribe their presence onto the contemporary story of present-day Zambia. | ||
