Abstract
The objective of this research was to examine ways in which mobile money couldimprove the experiences of individuals crossing the borders between Nigeria,Benin, Togo and Ghana. Rather than examine all four countries, we chose amore narrow study area, the large urban area known as GILA (the GreaterIbadan-Lagos-Accra corridor).GILA includes the largest cities in each country and, overall, powers the regionaleconomy. Given the common goal of the national governments to reducedependence on cash and increase the use of digital money, it makes sense to gowhere the money is. In this part of west Africa, the money is in GILA. |
